A landscaping website sells on finished projects, not on a list of services. The Homeowner spending twenty or forty thousand dollars on a backyard wants to see complete jobs from start to finish, priced honestly and done near them. A site built that way, with a page per service and a page per suburb, costs A$500 to set up with a A$100 Deposit to start.
Landscaping has the highest average job value of any trade we build for, and the longest decision. Both of those change what the website has to do.
Why is landscaping different from other trades online?
Because nobody buys landscaping in a panic.
A blocked drain is decided in ten minutes. A backyard renovation is decided over six weeks, usually by two people who do not fully agree, after they have looked at two hundred photos and had three contractors walk the site.
That means your website is not a phone button. It is the thing that gets you onto the shortlist of three, weeks before anyone calls. If it does not show finished work, explain what the process looks like and give some sense of cost, you will not make that list.
Should you have project pages or a gallery?
Project pages. A gallery is a wall of photos with no story attached.
A project page takes one job and walks through it. What the yard looked like before. What the Homeowner wanted. What you built, in order: excavation, retaining, drainage, paving, turf, planting, lighting. How long it took. A rough band for what that scope costs.
Six of those is worth more than two hundred loose photos, because it shows the Homeowner a version of their own job. It also gives a search engine real writing to read instead of a page of image files.
What services need their own page?
Split the trade into what people actually search for.
Landscape design. Full backyard renovation. Decking. Paving and pathways. Retaining walls. Turf laying and instant lawn. Irrigation and sprinkler systems. Garden beds and planting. Outdoor lighting. Water features. Pool surrounds. Commercial and strata grounds.
Someone searching "instant turf Highton" wants a turf page. Sending them to a general Services page and asking them to scroll is how you lose them. Each page should say what the job involves, what affects the price and how to send a Quote Request.
How do you talk about price without scaring people off?
By giving bands instead of silence.
Landscaping quotes vary more than almost any trade, because a sloped block with no side access is a different job to a flat one with a wide driveway. Tradies respond by refusing to publish anything, which leaves the Homeowner assuming the worst or assuming a number far below reality.
Better to say what a small courtyard usually lands between, what a full backyard usually lands between, and what pushes a job to the top of a range. Access, slope, drainage, retaining, materials. You will lose enquiries you were never going to win and gain the ones who now trust you.
Do suburb pages work for landscaping?
They do, and they carry more information than in most trades.
Soil, slope and block size are genuinely different from suburb to suburb, and so are the jobs. A page about landscaping in an older suburb with big flat blocks reads differently from one about a new estate with small yards and clay fill. Write what is true about working there.
Twelve services and twelve suburbs is twenty four pages, which is the shape of a normal Build for us. That structure is what gets you visible for "landscaper [suburb]" as well as "decking [suburb]", and it is structured to improve local search visibility rather than promising any position.
Why do before and after photos matter so much?
Because the value of landscaping is the change, not the object.
A photo of a finished deck is nice. A photo of the muddy sloped mess it replaced, next to the finished deck, is a sales argument. Homeowners look at the before shot, recognise their own yard, and start imagining.
Take a before photo of every job, even when you are in a hurry. It costs ten seconds and it is the single most valuable asset your website will have. We do not use stock photos or AI images, so the only pictures on your site are your jobs.
What does a landscaping website cost?
The Setup Fee is A$500.
A$100 Deposit starts the Build. We take your services, your suburbs, your project photos, your logo and your licence and insurance details, and build the site. The Preview is ready within 3 business days of the Deposit and your details landing.
You see the whole finished site before you pay anything else. Changes are made until you are happy, no cap on rounds and no extra charge. The A$400 Balance is due only on Approval. Live after that, usually the same day.
The Care Plan keeps it hosted and looked after. Its price depends on the size of the Build and is agreed with you on the call.
Frequently asked questions
How many project pages should a landscaping website have?
Five or six done properly beats twenty done thinly. Pick the jobs that best represent the work you want more of, and write each one as a full story with before and after photos.
I only do maintenance, not construction. Does this still apply?
Yes, with different pages. Regular mowing, garden maintenance, hedging, clean ups and strata grounds are all separate searches. The suburb structure matters even more for maintenance, because the run has to be local to be profitable.
How long until the site is live?
The Preview is ready within 3 business days of your A$100 Deposit and your details. After Approval it usually goes live the same day, depending on your domain.
Do I own the website?
Your domain, logo, photos and words are always yours. The A$1,000 Buyout hands you the site files outright, any time after Approval, if you would rather not stay on a Care Plan.
