A fencing website works when it has one page per fence type and one page per suburb, with real photos of finished fences on every one. Homeowners search by material and by place, not by the word "fencer", so a single Services page with a dot point list never shows up for the search that matters. A Build like that is A$500, and a A$100 Deposit starts it.
Fencing is one of the easiest trades to sell online, because the product is visible. It is also one of the most competitive, because anyone with a post hole digger calls themselves a fencer.
What do people actually search for when they want a fence?
Almost never "fencing contractor". They search for the thing they want built.
Colorbond fencing. Timber paling fence. Pool fencing. Glass pool fence. Aluminium slat fence. Retaining wall. Gates and automatic gates. Fence repairs after a storm. Rural and post and rail fencing.
Each of those has its own price point, its own buyer and its own set of questions. Someone pricing a glass pool fence is not the same person patching three palings that blew over. Giving them one shared page asks both of them to work out whether you are relevant. Most of them will not bother.
Split them. One page per fence type, written about that fence type, with your own photos of it.
Does pool fencing need its own page?
Yes, and it earns its place more than any other.
Pool fencing in Australia is regulated. Every state has its own rules on heights, gaps, gates and climbable zones, and a non-compliant fence can mean a failed inspection or a fine for the Homeowner. That means the person searching has a compliance problem, not just a fencing problem.
A page that explains what the rules require in your state, what an inspection looks for and how you build to that standard does two things. It answers the question, and it quietly proves you know the regulations. That is worth more than a photo gallery.
The same logic applies to retaining walls over a certain height, where permits and engineering come into it.
How do you handle the neighbour question?
Every fencer gets asked it. Who pays for a boundary fence, and what happens if the neighbour says no.
Each state has its own dividing fences legislation, and the short version is usually that adjoining owners share the cost of a sufficient fence. Homeowners do not know this. They search for it constantly.
A plain page explaining how it works in your state, what a fencing notice is and what happens when a neighbour will not agree is the kind of page that gets read, shared and linked to. It is also the kind of page an AI answer engine will quote, with your business named as the source.
Why do fencing websites need suburb pages?
Because a fencer will not drive ninety minutes for a sixteen metre paling fence, and Google works that out from location signals.
A suburb page written about fencing in that suburb, mentioning the block sizes, the common fence styles and the jobs you have done nearby, gives a search engine something specific to match against. A page listing thirty suburb names does not.
Eight fence types plus twelve suburbs is twenty pages before you count the home page, the about page and the quote page. That is why our Builds run 20 to 30+ pages. It is not padding. It is one page per real thing you sell in one real place, structured to improve local search visibility.
Do photos matter more for fencing than for other trades?
Considerably more. Fencing is bought with the eyes.
A Homeowner choosing between a 1.8 metre Colorbond in Basalt and one in Monument is not reading a specification. They are looking at pictures of both and imagining their yard. If your site has no photo of a Monument fence, you are not in that decision.
Take photos of every finished job. Wide shot, gate detail, the corner where the fence meets the house. Group them by fence type so each page has its own set. We do not use stock photos and we do not use AI images, so the gallery on your site is your work or it is empty.
What does a fencing website cost?
The Setup Fee is A$500.
A$100 Deposit starts the Build. We take your fence types, your suburbs, your licence and insurance details, your logo and your job photos, and build the site. The Preview is ready within 3 business days of the Deposit and your details landing.
You see the whole finished site before you pay anything else. Changes are made until you are happy, with no cap on rounds and no extra charge. The A$400 Balance falls due only on Approval. Live after that, usually the same day.
The Care Plan keeps the site online and looked after. The price depends on the size of the Build and is agreed with you on the call, before any Deposit.
Frequently asked questions
Should I put fencing prices on my website?
A price range per metre helps more than it hurts. It filters out the people who were never going to pay your rate and warms up the ones who will. If your pricing moves with materials, say the range is indicative and confirmed on site.
How many pages does a fencing website need?
Usually 20 to 30+. One page for each fence type you build, one for each suburb you work in, plus the home, about, contact and quote pages. The exact count comes out of the Discovery Call.
Can you build the site if I only have photos on my phone?
Yes. Phone photos of real finished fences are better than anything else you could give us. Send them across and we sort out the cropping and sizing.
What happens if I stop the Care Plan?
The site goes offline, but your domain, your logo, your photos and your words remain yours. If you want to keep the site running somewhere else, the A$1,000 Buyout hands you the files any time after Approval.
